ticker entry interference

When I type in a stock ticker on the chart page I am running into an issue

I type at around 90wpm - when I click in the box it let me start typing - so I will enter SPY in maybe ¼ of a second and press enter - the chart that it loads is the chart for S - it ignores the ‘py’ characters - unless I go very slow - as a programmer my guess is that the load of autocomplete list of matching tickers is blocking typing
